Overview

700K+ point participants and 24K+ MAU during the program's run. The points program became the primary user acquisition and retention mechanism during the protocol's growth phase — sustaining trading volume across multiple months and establishing the behavioral patterns that carried into the platform's next growth chapter.

The Brief

Parcl needed a sustained mechanism to drive trading volume and platform engagement during its critical growth phase — not a one-time campaign, but a system that could evolve across multiple seasons while keeping users continuously invested in their standing. The challenge was designing a points economy that felt fair and transparent, rewarded the right behaviors, and could be operationally managed through season closures, point calculations, and distribution mechanics without breaking user trust.

The program had to run across three full seasons with evolving rules — each season introducing new variants (performance loss points, season changes, season close-out mechanics) — without confusing users who had built mental models around the previous season's rules. Point calculations and distribution had to be legible to users without exposing backend complexity. Every season closure was a high-stakes UX moment: users were anxious about their points, and the communication and interface design had to preempt confusion before it became frustration.

Designed the full points experience across Seasons 1-3, treating each season transition as a high-stakes UX moment that required re-education without alienating users who had built mental models around the previous season's rules.
